Juarez Police Department Purchases KENWOOD NEXEDGE® System and Radios

(Suwanee, GA) JVCKENWOOD USA Corp. announces the purchase of a NEXEDGE digital trunked system and five hundred (500) KENWOOD NX-420 portable radios by the police department of Cd. Juarez in Chihuahua, Mexico.  The police department chose KENWOOD radios so they could continue to use analog radios on their 800 MHz LTR system while they complete their migration to NEXEDGE digital operations. Cd. Juarez is the second largest international border city in Mexico with a population of 1.5 million and is considered a major industrial center for manufacturing.

“The department reports enhanced coverage with the new system and plans to add a second site with additional NEXEDGE radios once the initial deployment is complete,” said Verney Vasquez, International Sales Manager, JVCKENWOOD USA Corp.  Local news coverage on the radio purchase can be found at this link.

JVCKENWOOD Corporation manufactures analog and digital two-way radios, including P25 compliant and NEXEDGE® radios that use the NXDN® protocol.  Kenwood provides complete turnkey system solutions for the utility, public safety, government, education, healthcare, and business and industrial markets.
